Wastemonitoring.com delivers online SWMPs

Dorset based Waste Monitoring Ltd has landed its first major contracts for their online Site Waste Management Plans software. Companies including Warings, Midas and Morgan Ashurst have taken on wastemonitoring.com to run their SWMPs.

“We are delighted with the response we have had to the launch of wastemonitoring.com” said Lisa Delahunty, Sales Director. “We knew there was going to be a need for this type of software, but we never imagined it would be accepted so well in the building industry.”

Wastemonitoring.com was developed to meet the legal requirements for the implementation of site waste management plans as per the SWMP Regulations Act of April 2008. This act requires all building project valued in excess of £300k to have a comprehensive log of all waste removed from a site. This waste log needs to be updated every time there is a waste movement off the site and available to be inspected at any time by the government inspectors.

Waste Monitoring spent months developing an interactive, online SWMP system. Liaising with DEFRA and the EA to ensure the data is recorded to an exact standard acceptable to the inspectors and compliant with the government legislation.

Wastemonitoring.com is quick and simple to use, allowing all aspects of the SWMP to be completed in a logical and client friendly manner. It is designed to take the guesswork out of the administration aspect of establishing an SWMP. By utilising drop down menu formats with prompts and guides, to help the user through the process of setting up their SWMP, wastemonitoring.com ensures that the site is covered for any eventuality.

Waste Monitoring Ltd identified that setting up an SWMP was only half the battle for sites; the other half was how do you quickly and easily record all the waste movements off the site. The solution was simple, link an automated ordering system into the SWMP and record all the waste container movements directly onto the SWMP. Every time a waste container, such as a skip, is ordered, delivered or exchanged the system automatically logs the movement, records the data and, using the governments own conversion tables works out the weight and volume of the waste leaving the site. There only needs to be any human intervention on mixed waste in a container, but even then waste monitoring have come up with a clever solution. A simple list of possible waste streams is presented to the user and all they have to do is fill in what percentage of which waste stream was in the container.

All the separate waste streams are then added to the reports and can be viewed either individually or as part of a comprehensive reporting suite. The flexibility and versatility of wastemenitoring.com has put it right at the forefront of SWMP management tools. Waste Monitoring Ltd has ensured that with a price tag of only £750.00 per license it is an affordable, flexible and workable solution for any companies Site Waste Management Plan requirements.
